Sorry I have been MIA.....seems I've over committed myself once again. I know you all are way too smart to ever do that LOL. Of course they have all been very fun and important things. One of which was cheer tryouts for my daughter Katie who is going to be a freshman in high school. We find out tonight at 7pm if she made it or not, so keep your fingers crossed for us. In between all the practice and tumbling lessons I finally got to finish my Graphic 45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe mini book. I started shopping for this book with my mother when she was down for the wedding. Her eclectic and sophisticated style definitely presents itself in this book. The simplicity and beauty of the peacock feather my mother found brings an elegance to the front cover. We picked out some unusual flower sprigs and leaves in that deep rust color giving the book a rich flavor. After finding the peacock feather we couldn't just stop there we added some black and gold feathers as well. There is a constant theme through out the book which is the fluttering butterflies all over the pages. The butterflies give the book such a feminine look and just soften each of the pages. I've added some new gold charms, a butterfly and bird both waiting to take flight. I found the large maroon flower months ago and just could not pass it up because of the unique beading in the center of the flower. It was the perfect addition to all the beautiful embellishments. One of the details in the book that I have to share with you is the mesh flower. I went to the fabric store looking for something funky and unique that I could make a flower out of (my mother is always using the most unusual things). I just happened to pass by some black mesh and thought it was so funky ....and it reminded me of a butterfly net. I love it!! I think this is one of the most unique books that I have created. It will be available at gogogirlscrapbooking.com on May 7th for $42.00. I know, I know its not May 1st....I'm sorry I will be at outdoor education camp all next week with a bunch of fifth graders but I think the Fluttering Femme Kit is worth the wait.
